Ian Macnaughton’s acting bug was spawned at the London Bubble Theatre. He trained at Actor's Centre and the City lit and through sustained fringe work predominantly at Theatre Collection; The Castle, Lulu, The Visit, Russian Lady Macbeth and The Life of Mother Teresa and at the London Theatre Deptford; Lane & Merriman in The Importance of Being Earnest and The Voice in Under Milk Wood. He's also trained with Gerry Flanagan of Shifting Sands Theatre; studying clowning and physical theatre. He's done some Shakespeare, playing Egeus in A Midsummer Night's Dream and The Duke in Othello and is now relishing his biggest role to date in Belfast Girl. He's done a few commercials and short films and is keen to extend his acting into television.
