Many theatres these days want to see video clips, or indeed, full length performances, before they consider your show. This is increasingly true of funders as well.
So what's our contribition in this brand new world. Last year we invested in a decent camcorder and recorded three clips of Nik Wood Jones' Beatle Mal which we posted all over the place.
This year we got involved with an internet tv station with recordings of bits from Cooley Women. We also recorded monologues from Lorraine Mullaney's Unclouded Moon (due to play at the Brighton Fringe from 24th May). We have also filmed and posted a short piece from Belfast Girl for fund-it.ie as part of a crowd funding initiative.
So what about the technicals? I am no Spielberg so Steven can sleep well at night. We also had professional help on occasion, which has helped enormously. But as we've had to learn to build and manage our own websites over the past few years, so we've had to get to grips with video technology. There is software available to help edit stuff so a start is about to be made.
